Exterior Doors 2023
The Durability Factor Knowing the durability of your door is important when it comes to moisture management. Moisture affects a door and causes it to warp or rot over time. Reeb ® stocks three durability levels – good, better, and best.
Wood Doors with Good Durability Wood doors with good durability are made from multiple blocks of wood that are glued together and covered with a veneer. These blocks of wood are not solid lumber, but they are still strong and durable. The product is glued together only at the dowel pins, which helps to prevent the door from warping or bowing. However, even though these doors are made from durable materials, they can still be damaged by moisture, causing the veneer delamination, the stile and rail to separate, and eventually rot.
Wood Doors with Better Durability
Better durability wood doors are made with a core that is covered with a veneer, and a composite block that blocks water from entering the stile. The bottom rail is solid lumber, and the stile and rails are glued together at the dowel pins. The entire surface area of the stile and rail joint is covered with glue, which makes it a tough joint and helps to seal the bottom rail. This makes the door much tougher and more durable than a door with a good level of durability. It is resistant to water and moisture, and it will not warp or bow.
Wood Doors with Best Durability
Best durability wood doors are made from solid lumber and are constructed with the highest quality materials and craftsmanship. These doors are designed to withstand the elements and will last for years to come. There are two main types of best durability wood doors: • MDO doors: MDO doors are made from a medium-density overlay, which is a composite material that is resistant to moisture and damage. MDO doors are a good option for areas with high humidity or where the door will be exposed to the elements. • Solid lumber doors: Solid lumber doors are made from solid pieces of wood that are glued together. Solid lumber doors are a good option for areas with low humidity or where the door will not be exposed to the elements.
Wood doors are a beautiful and classic choice for any home. But not all wood doors are created equal. When choosing a wood door, it is important to consider the durability of the door. A durable door will last for many years and will add value to your home.
